Overview
As the director, you will ensure risk management by leading efforts in identifying, prioritizing, and acting on opportunities in your areas of expertise. Your team will establish risk parameters and monitor their limits. Responsibilities include:
- Define strategic directions with the vice-president
- Quantify and report key risks to senior management
- Disclose information in financial statements’ risk management sections
- Engage and support your team members’ goals and careers
- Oversee daily liquidity monitoring and collaborate with treasury
- Monitor investment limits and take necessary actions
- Use simulations to support strategic decision-making and reassess risk appetite
- Support business development in various sectors
- Enhance risk assessment software for various risks
- Communicate with regulatory authorities about financial risk management
- Prepare training for relevant bodies
- Promote Desjardins’s cooperative values

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in administration, mathematics, statistics, or related field
- At least ten years of relevant experience, including six in management
- Extensive experience in financial risk management
- Knowledge of French required
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency
- Advanced knowledge of interest rate risk modeling
- Knowledge of financial institutions’ business sectors
