Job Summary:
The Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care (CLRI) is a program of the Baycrest Academy for Research and Education, Bruyère, and Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA). It partners with the long-term care (LTC) sector to enhance the health and well-being of residents and staff. The program provides training and resources to current and future LTC workforce, funded by the Ontario Ministry of Long Term Care.
The Director, Ontario CLRI will provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing projects, initiatives, and budget management. The role involves guiding a team of professionals, establishing partnerships with government, LTC organizations, educators, and researchers to meet sector needs. The director will also seek funding opportunities, lead proposal development, and secure new funding sources.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with Ontario CLRI contractual obligations and mandates from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
- Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to set priorities and implement plans.
- Leading development and testing of educational innovations and research initiatives.
- Developing educational strategies and promoting evidence-based practices.
- Providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring across the LTC sector.
- Establishing a strong research component and integrating innovation into all activities.
- Overseeing evaluation processes as prescribed by the government.
- Engaging with Baycrest executives and stakeholders to maintain alignment and support.
Additional leadership areas include:
- Fostering a learning culture and promoting research and best practices.
- Implementing knowledge mobilization strategies across Baycrest.
- Ensuring continuous quality improvement and responsiveness to stakeholder needs.
- Applying analytical and quantitative methods to support research and learning.
- Coordinating organizational learning initiatives and managing budgets and team schedules.
- Supervising staff and interns, delivering presentations, and preparing reports for diverse audiences.
Qualifications include:
- Masters’ degree in health care or related field; PhD preferred.
- Project management certification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge Mobilization training or experience.
- 6-9 years of experience, including 5+ years in management.
- Experience in project and change management, preferably in healthcare or non-profit sectors.
- Technical skills in evaluation, data analysis, and research methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools.
