This is an onsite role at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Shawnee supporting all Cardiology service lines and services. There will be a strong focus on Procedure, TEEs, Cath Labs and EKGs. Key responsibilities include growing the service line; managing cardiologist relationships; juggling provider needs and employee wants; team building and change management as new services (ECHO, EKG) will now live under the Cath Lab umbrella; and Quality and Patient Safety.
Candidates must have deep Cardiology experience, knowing the ins and outs of a Cath Lab; previous success driving team building and relationship management with strong personalities balancing providers and employees with a patient focus; and business acumen with a passion for growing service lines. The ideal candidate would have surgery experience.

Job Summary:
Directs services, workflow and resources for assigned nursing area.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
  • Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
  • Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing if Master’s is not in Nursing

Experience

  • Three years’ experience, with 1 year in direct people management/leadership
  • Experience in Cath Lab and/or Cardiology required

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.

Required Professional License And/or Certifications

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA) and
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State or Registered Nurse (RN) – Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
