The Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is inviting applications for the position of Head, Division of Medical Oncology and Malignant Hematology/Head Systemic Therapy. The successful applicant should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The expected start date is January 1, 2026, or shortly thereafter.
Major responsibilities include clinical, administrative, and academic leadership of the division’s education, patient care, and research activities. The Division Head will oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, and career development. They will serve as the Head of Systemic Therapy for the Odette Cancer Centre and champion strategic initiatives of the Cancer Centre, Department, Hospital, and University.
The successful candidate must have a record of academic excellence with a National/International reputation. They must hold an MD degree, be eligible for certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have licensure in Ontario. Leadership experience within a Cancer agency is an asset.
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and offers a comprehensive academic program in Medical Oncology and Hematology, including residency programs. It is home to the Odette Cancer Centre, the sixth largest comprehensive Cancer Centre in North America.
