About Emmaus Formation Centre
Emmaus Formation Centre (EFC), founded to help Christians and the Evangelical church experience God’s transformative power through spiritual formation and direction, is a virtual organization incorporated in Canada. All programs are offered online. Having celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024, EFC is poised for growth. Its founder and current ED is preparing for retirement, seeking a successor to strategically shape and impact the church.
About the Executive Director
- The ED reports to the Board of Directors, which provides governance and strategic support.
- The ED, as part of the executive leadership, will lead the vision and strategy of EFC, exploring ways to expand and deepen impact.
- The ED will exemplify Christian leadership and uphold a reputation in the Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and shape staff, including the education director, administrator, and bookkeeper.
- Manage onboarding, development, and offboarding of staff and volunteers.
- Ensure staff engagement in spiritual formation.
- Oversee training programs such as Spiritual Formation Certificate, Spiritual Direction Certificate, and others.
- Lead fundraising efforts and stewardship.
- Manage public communications and events.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures.
Job Structure
This is a full-time, virtual position with a salary scale based on education, training, and experience in Christian Theology, Spiritual Formation, Spiritual Direction, and Leadership.

- A passion for spiritual growth and inner transformation for self and others, with a desire to influence the church.
- Commitment to serve the local church in spiritual formation and direction.
- Dedication to fostering a team that works within their God-given gifts.
- Commitment to organizational culture based on Biblical values such as justice, servant leadership, humility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.
- Relational, people-centered leadership approach.
- Ability to develop successful fundraising strategies.
- Competency in financial management, including budgets and financial statements.
- Minimum graduate degree in Christian studies; D.Min. preferred or in process.
