Overview

We are currently seeking an Executive Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity to join our team!

This leader will oversee the IT department, develop strategic roadmaps for IT and cybersecurity solutions, and ensure the effective planning and deployment of digital initiatives. The role involves collaboration on strategy development, project proposal assessments, and achieving departmental and organizational goals within set timelines and budgets.

What The Role Involves

Operations

  • Developing and monitoring annual work plans and digital strategies
  • Mentoring and developing the IT team
  • Designing IT strategies and infrastructure
  • Expertise in AI, RPA, and Machine Learning
  • Understanding legal frameworks on privacy and access
  • Managing enterprise communication networks
  • Improving operational processes and supporting business strategies through applications and systems
  • Analyzing IT needs and assessing equipment/software requirements
  • Enhancing user satisfaction and service levels
  • Managing IT budgets and vendor negotiations
  • Building cross-departmental relationships and supporting strategic planning
  • Establishing IT policies and standards
  • Supporting contract negotiations and vendor relationships

Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with security standards and policies
  • Maintaining system and network security
  • Supporting audits and security assessments
  • Promoting cybersecurity awareness and training
  • Managing SLAs and business continuity plans
  • Handling cybersecurity incidents
  • Developing KPIs for performance improvement

Human Resources

  • Leading and mentoring staff
  • Developing staffing plans and succession strategies
  • Overseeing recruitment and staff development
  • Conducting performance reviews and coaching
  • Addressing staff performance concerns

Internal & External Communication

  • Participating in committees and community functions
  • Providing updates on IT operations

Business Applications

  • Partnering with business units to identify needs
  • Leading enterprise application strategies and implementations
  • Managing vendor relationships and software lifecycle

Data Analytics

  • Defining data strategy and governance
  • Overseeing data platforms and enabling analytics

IT Operations

  • Designing and supporting Ontario-wide networks
  • Managing cloud services and infrastructure
  • Collaborating to ensure high-quality IT support

What You Bring

  • Degree or diploma in IT, health informatics, or related field
  • Knowledge of EMR, Microsoft SaaS, Azure, AWS
  • Cybersecurity, networking, VOIP expertise
  • 5+ years supervisory and management experience
  • Healthcare experience is an asset
  • Experience with large projects and budgets
  • PMP and/or ITIL preferred; security certifications like CISA, CISM, CISSP preferred
  • Customer-focused problem solver
  • Supportive leader with mentoring skills
  • Innovative, organized, communicative
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
