The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking a Group Manager to lead one of our Ground Engineering teams, part of the Ground Engineering business. Reporting to the Director of Ground Engineering , this is a dual role, ideally located in Vancouver, where you will provide both leadership of a 25-person team and provide senior level geotechnical expertise to support our Ground Engineering business.
You will join a growing team comprised of geotechnical engineers and geoscientists based in the Lower Mainland, with offices in Burnaby and Langley, supported by WSP’s global Ground Engineering community. Our team services projects in Transportation, Oil & Gas, Flood Protection, Water Supply, and Power sectors. As Group Manager, you will play a key role in delivering our strategic objective to expand our ground engineering services.

What you can expect to do here:
- Champion safety (HSE), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and ethics & compliance
- Lead a team delivering geotechnical projects, including strategic planning and business development
- Manage and develop team members, including performance management
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members
- Support business development efforts, client relationships, proposals, and project positioning
- Provide technical advice and review project deliverables
- Manage projects from proposal to delivery, including contracts, finances, and client relations
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or related field
- 12-20 years of consulting experience in geotechnical projects
- Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven business development success and client relationship skills
- Health and safety leadership
- Technical excellence in proposals and reports
- Strategic and business planning experience
- Financial management skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environment
Salary range in British Columbia: $113,500 – $156,000. Final salary depends on education, experience, skills, and organizational needs.
