Position: Head of M&A / Corporate Development
Location: Toronto / Ottawa
Reports To: Managing Director
Role Overview
Our client is looking for a sharp and driven Head of M&A / Corporate Development to help lead deal-flow across our media and consumer investment platform. This role sits at the core of our transaction teams, supporting everything from origination to execution. You’ll combine analytical precision with strategic thinking to evaluate opportunities, drive due diligence, and execute transactions that shape our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a dynamic deal pipeline through sourcing, screening, and market mapping
- Build financial models, valuations, and investment scenarios for potential acquisitions
- Draft investment memos and support presentations to the investment committee
- Coordinate due diligence efforts across legal, financial, and operational workstreams
- Manage deal data rooms and closing checklists
- Analyze portfolio performance, exit scenarios, and peer benchmarks
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity/venture capital
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency; experience with cap table software is a plus
- Highly organized and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments
- Industry knowledge or strong interest in media, entertainment, or consumer brands
- Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to learn
