IBMi Specialist – System Administrator MS

As part of the managed services team, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of IBMi servers, including infrastructure upkeep, OS and software updates, and configuration of IBM Power server virtualization tools (PowerVM, HMC, VIOs, etc.).
You will support High Availability solutions such as Mimix and PowerHA, handle incident, problem, and change management processes, provide 2nd level technical support to clients and cloud environments, and update service tickets in ServiceNow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing IBMi series OS and software lifecycle
- Implementing and maintaining Power Servers, HMC, VIOS, and Storage
- Performing patch management and capacity planning
- Handling installations, upgrades, and migrations of iSeries systems
- Maintaining backup and replication technologies like BRMS, MIMIX, and PowerHA
- Achieving and maintaining relevant certifications
Requirements:
- 5+ years supporting IBM Power and IBMi systems
- Experience with hardware, tape libraries, VTLs, and system upgrades
- Knowledge of LPARs, HMC, SAN, BRMS, security, networking, and data replication
- Ability to document processes and manage time effectively
Nice to have:
- Experience with SAN zoning, storage management, security on IBMi, Cloud technologies, PowerVS, FalconStor StorSafe, and Storsight
