Within our Industry X team, you’ll assist clients in leveraging significant market opportunities as digital technology becomes central to industry in product development and manufacturing. You’ll help transform their product, manufacturing, and related services value chains across sectors like Products, Communications, Media, High Tech, Aerospace & Defense, Chemicals, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Utilities. Responsibilities of the PTC Windchill Technical Architect include:
- Providing technical and domain expertise on complex projects.
- Participating in requirements gathering and specifications creation.
- Contributing to technical design and supporting the technical architect.
- Configuring applications based on functional and technical designs.
- Diagnosing and resolving defects during deployment and implementation, contributing to and executing the implementation plan.
- Documenting configuration and architecture.
- Conducting validation tests, including unit, functional, and integration testing, with test cases and data.
- Analyzing, designing, and implementing solution enhancements.
- Coaching workstream teams.
- Supporting management in various project workstreams.
- Writing or modifying process extensions based on physical design and programming specifications, including code documentation.
- Reporting progress and issues.
- Travel up to 50% as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience programming with Windchill or other PTC products, including Java.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Proficiency in English, as this role involves regular interaction with English-speaking stakeholders across Canada. Due to the nature of interactions, reorganization to avoid this requirement is not feasible.
Preferred Qualifications:
- API development experience.
- Knowledge of systems implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts and solutions.
- Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) concepts and solutions.
- Experience with PTC Windchill, PDMLink, ProjectLink, and MPMLink.
- Experience integrating PLM with enterprise applications like SAP or Salesforce using tools like Tibco, WebSphere, or SOA.
- Experience with Windchill data migration and integration.
- Knowledge of IoT technologies such as RFID, Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Cisco, Axeda, ThingWorx, WindRiver, SCADA, M2M, AI, 2lemetry, AWS, Azure.
- Experience with IoT field devices, sensors, M2M SCADA, edge computing, and wireless communication protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, escalate issues, and prioritize.
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and adaptability.
- Leadership experience in team management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset, flexibility, and effective time management.
