Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
The Zifo Lab Computing Analyst provides technical laboratory services, including multivendor instrument, information technology, and validation/compliance services where applicable. The individual will analyze customer needs and gaps to propose solutions for the desired state, working with business users, managers, and the internal Zifo support team.
**Note: This role is not eligible for relocation assistance**
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for customer laboratory environments, primarily for computers integrated with instrumentation.
- Manage lab computing aspects, including installation, retirement, and relocation of equipment.
- Implement Windows-based security measures.
- Ensure compliance with client’s corporate policies through reporting and compliance programs.
- Act as the technical support contact for field service engineers and external vendors.
- Provide expertise for system validation and change management efforts.
- Document procedures, policies, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
- Create and maintain inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and related information.
- Perform system preventive maintenance as per client schedules, if applicable.
Required Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interpret client requests.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex instrument and technology issues.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices as per company and client site standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, life sciences, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of relevant technical experience, including Windows technologies, networking, remote computing, and backup systems.
- Experience with virtual machine support and scientific instrumentation is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
