As a Lab Technician, you will work with an outstanding team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Vision. Showcase your skills and experience with process enhancement.

Here’s what you’ll do:
Lab Technician II is an intermediate position. Working under minimal supervision, following written and verbal instructions and established practices, you will perform routine and semi-routine duties related to lens manufacturing, collect data such as KPIs, and support problem-solving.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Follow safety guidelines and understand safety protocols.
- Create and maintain an organized workspace following 5S principles.
- Possess knowledge of, and perform tasks within, your department with a good understanding of the entire lab. Advanced knowledge of processes in two or more departments is required. Able to perform duties at 90% of the positions within your department.
- Handle various tasks within your department with minimal supervision. Have intermediate optical knowledge and be able to perform all duties of a Lab Tech I.
- Troubleshoot work: identify and correct deviations from work instructions, ensure correct parameters are collected, support corrective actions for out-of-spec conditions, and understand common faults and solutions.
- Understand lab operating systems and software.
- Perform routine and semi-routine production duties, focusing on quality, quantity, and efficiency.
- Inspect products for compliance with specifications and standards.
- Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Apply fixes to common problems to improve quality and prevent defects.
- Assist in calibrating machinery within your work area.
- Refer to the Job Matrix for departmental specifics.
- Maintain documentation, either written or digital.
- Perform tasks within your department and cross-train in others as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Participate in meetings to improve departmental communication and efficiency.
- Work at different stations or lines as production requires.
- Train peers as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Dependable, honest, able to follow instructions
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Effective communication skills in English
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues
- Vision and/or color hue recognition testing may be required
- Customer service mindset
- Physical ability to sit, stand, twist, bend, lift up to 10 pounds, and exert up to 20 PSI pressure with hands
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Good visual concentration and coordination
- Attention to detail, dexterity, patience, and professionalism
- Basic office/computer skills
