This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on Akamai’s growing cloud offerings. You must have a passion to get things done quickly and get them done right.
As a Software Engineer Principal Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Helping build out cloud platform functionality that sets up, manages, and protects networking in the ACC
- Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high quality code in close collaboration with your team
- Working closely with peers, and coordinating with global teams to build new features or resolve software bugs
- Providing organizational and functional leadership to a small number of reports
Do What You Love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a minimum of 12 years of commercial software development experience
- Have experience with Python. Go and Ansible experience are useful, but not required
- Have experience working with docker and Linux APIs
- Understand networking protocols such as: HTTP, TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP and cloud networking features
- Demonstrate knowledge with technologies like containers, Kubernetes and/or serverless computing
- Have solid skills in writing, testing and understanding complex computer software
- Be experienced in technical design, product specifications reviews, projects and backlog planning
- Be able to work productively to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative, transparent manner
