Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.
Are you ready to drive strategic initiatives and lead complex projects? We’re seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and enable AFSC to achieve our purpose and strategic business objectives.
About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, the Leader, Portfolio & Project Management will establish, maintain, and enhance processes that collect, assess, approve, prioritize, and disseminate the status of corporate programs, projects and initiatives. You will ensure selected initiatives are effectively coordinated, resourced, and led, employing best practices in project management related to people, processes, and tools. These enterprise-wide projects are often large, complex, and involve multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the execution and risks within the corporate portfolio of programs and projects.
- Facilitate corporate prioritization and provide leadership across the branch and division.
- Collaborate closely with Digital Services leadership, other AFSC leaders, and key stakeholders.
Growth Opportunities: In this role, you will continue developing as a leader while working with executive and senior leaders on critical organizational initiatives and managing the portfolio of programs and projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong leadership, collaboration skills, and expertise in portfolio management and prioritization.
- Plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Keeps others well informed; conveys information clearly, concisely, and professionally when speaking or writing.
- Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education with a related degree.
- Masters degree is considered an asset.
- 12 years of related experience, with 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Certificate in project management or PMP mandatory.
- Lean Six Sigma practical knowledge, with minimum yellow belt certification.
