- Managing the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment
- Providing technical solutions, performing code reviews, enforcing coding standards, and ensuring the quality of deliverables
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to mainframe applications
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and designing technical solutions
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and innovative solutions
- Identifying opportunities to improve the software development process and team productivity
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including functional and technical specifications
- Working with other teams, such as business analysts and QA, to deliver successful projects
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks
- Providing guidance and support to other team members
- Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and best practices
- Optimizing mainframe systems for performance and efficiency
- Providing support for testing efforts, including defect resolution
- Participating in release management activities
- Understanding the business needs and how mainframe applications support those needs
