WSP is currently seeking a Manager, Project Controls – Bridges, Highways & Roads in Ontario for our Transportation business line, located in the Greater Toronto Area.
This position will lead a team of experienced project controls professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. As a team leader, you will demonstrate your ability and passion to foster team development, performance, and progression. You will focus on enhancing the team’s efficiency, process automation, and productivity through digital tools available within the business. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional project controls technical, management, and financial leadership skills, and be capable of providing operational support to the Director.
This role offers operational and project controls leadership for projects in Bridges, Highways, Roads, Major Projects, Electrical/ITS design services, and Construction Administration services in Ontario. The candidate will oversee project controls functions for selected infrastructure projects, including direct coordination with clients. The position requires a highly organized individual with strong leadership and analytical skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and compliant with standards and regulations.

What you can expect to do here:
- Lead and mentor project control professionals, supporting their growth and fostering collaboration.
- Develop and implement cost control processes to monitor budgets and expenditures.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans.
- Ensure project controls comply with industry standards and WSP’s quality systems.
- Provide regular updates on project financials, schedules, and performance to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders for effective communication.
- Maintain accurate records of project controls, including costs, schedules, and risks.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in project controls, preferably in infrastructure or construction.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, CCP) are highly desirable.
- Experience in engineering consulting is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
