DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a driven and capable Mechanical Construction Manager to support multiple data center projects for a top technology client. This client-facing role requires strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects across regions. A background in data center development, design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements is highly desirable.

You will mentor staff, develop long-term client relationships, and pursue new work through strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize modern project management techniques within complex organizations; understand engineering, design, procurement, safety, construction, and commissioning.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships and communicate effectively with technical and management personnel.
  • Develop and incorporate cost-effective engineering solutions and best practices.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget; oversee work from initiation to completion.
  • Prepare presentations on project progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of building systems to enhance performance.
  • Research new technologies and assess their integration feasibility.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for mechanical and plumbing disciplines.
  • Manage vendors, oversee contracts, review scope of work, and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate vendor selection, contracting, and integration.
  • Facilitate decision-making, manage changes, and negotiate solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to audit recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 10+ years in construction and project management within mechanical/plumbing fields for various facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction, and project delivery methods.
  • Experience in report development for diverse audiences.
  • Client-facing experience and ability to communicate technical progress clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Membership in PMI, CCMA, or similar.
  • PMP or CCM certifications.
  • Background in data center development and construction.
  • Design, testing, and commissioning experience.
