Job Specifics
Oak Tree Family Medicine is seeking a full-time MOA to start in early July 2025. This is a temporary position to cover a 1-year maternity leave. Fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin required. Experienced candidates are ideal, but the clinic will consider new MOA graduates.
The MOA Will Be Expected To
- Coordinate patient care through the clinic – checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam or treatment rooms for the next patient.
- Answer enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
- Contact patients via telephone to relay information provided by clinic doctors as well as inform patients about details regarding specialist appointments or other investigations.
- Send specialist referrals and keep track of pending referrals.
- Operate fax machines.
- Maintain appointment schedule and manages recalls.
- Maintain electronic medical record, including uploading and labeling reports into the patient chart.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately and ensures that they are ready for next patient.
- Ensure patient confidentiality.
- Clean and sterilize materials and instruments, when required.
- Perform patient prep procedures and documents findings on the patient record.
- Prepare invoices and collects non-insured fees from patients or third parties, where applicable.
- Order and receives kitchen, office and medical supplies.
- Perform all other related clinical, administrative tasks or special tasks as required.
The Following Skills Are Required For This Position
- Proficient in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
- Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and doctors
- Customer service focus and strong people skills
- Experience in a Family Practice office
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Past EMR experience
- Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
Key Assets Include
- Knowledge of MSP billing
- Proficient computer skills and ability to troubleshoot minor IT problems
- Past Experience with MSP billing
