Richmond Hospital seeks a General Otolaryngologist with subspecialty interest or qualification in Head and Neck surgery for a 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) position. The candidate will join a group of 3.5 FTE otolaryngologists to provide on-call coverage and operate within existing resources of the hospital to maintain apprpriate workforce level. Richmond Hospital is affiliated with UBC. Student/Resident teaching is encouraged. Strong interpersonal skills will be highly valued. Only applicants of interest will be contacted.
Richmond is located on Lulu Island at the mouth of the Fraser River, and also encompasses adjacent Sea Island and some smaller uninhabited islets to the north and south. Neighbouring communities are Vancouver and Burnaby to the north, New Westminster to the east, and Delta to the south. The Strait of Georgia forms its western border. It is the fourth largest city in BC and encompasses diverse neighbourhoods from historic Steveston to the agricultural land reserves. The population of 218,000 is one of the most ethnically diverse in Canada.
Richmond is the fourth most populous and fast growing municipalities in Metro Vancouver. To meet the growing demand for healthcare services, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is ensuring we plan for the future. Richmond Hospital is undergoing plans for a campus wide expansion and renewal. As announced on July 2020 by the Premier and Minster of Health, the aims is to build a new acute care tower. Incorporating modernized healthcare design principles, the new facility provide increased inpatient care beds, perioperative services, medical imaging and emergency services to support quality patient care and staff wellness and safety. Detailed planning is currently underway with a project completion target of 2028.

- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) – Mandatory
- Surgical Skills – Mandatory
