Effective November 1, 2025, one full-time permanent faculty position as an Academic Clinician is available in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto, ON.
SickKids is an academic health science centre dedicated to infants, children, and adolescents, affiliated with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) comprises 18 faculty members providing clinical programs and research in one of North America’s leading GI divisions.
The successful candidate must have excellent clinical abilities in general GHN, with subspecialty expertise in paediatric hepatology and liver transplantation.
Responsibilities include clinical care in GHN inpatient and outpatient services, GI endoscopic procedures, on-call duties, and covering the liver transplant inpatient service. The candidate will work closely with the Hepatology team and allied health professionals.
Academic duties involve teaching and mentoring fellows in the GHN fellowship program, conducting clinical research, and engaging in teaching and quality improvement initiatives. Opportunities exist for teaching in other programs and research.
The candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Salary ranges from $275,571 to $340,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, with benefits including health insurance, pension, academic allowance, and relocation support.
Applicants must have an MD, MBBS, or equivalent, be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure in Ontario.
