As a member of the Core Fixed Income team at 1832 Asset Management L.P., the Portfolio Analyst, Fixed Income supports investment decision-making through portfolio analysis, trading, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve portfolio analytics models and reporting.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to enhance reporting and scenario analysis.
- Provide market intelligence and maintain relationships with trading partners.
- Participate in market discussions and coordinate with internal departments such as Risk, Performance, and Compliance.
Trading
- Execute trades based on PM instructions.
- Generate and execute relative value trade ideas.
- Hedge using cash bonds and futures.
- Rebalance mandates and propose security crossings.
- Monitor cash flows and provide backup for Money Market mandates.
Reporting
- Generate various reports including portfolio exposure, market valuation, and macroeconomic data tracking.
- Ensure report accuracy and improve reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- University degree in a related field (e.g., Commerce, Economics).
- Familiarity with fixed income and money markets; 3-4 years relevant experience.
- Experience trading fixed income and money markets is an asset.
- Encouraged to pursue a Futures license.
- Strong systems knowledge, including Bloomberg, Charles River, Excel, and programming skills in VBA/Python.
- Ability to multitask, work under stress, and communicate effectively.
