Portfolio Director, Hydro Power and Dams

Reporting to the Vice-President of the Division, the Portfolio Director is responsible for developing a strategic approach to markets, clients, and projects, bringing the best solutions to increase market share in a consistent and predictable manner. The role requires close collaboration with other organizational groups for market development, tender responses, and project monitoring.
Location – Toronto, ON
Your role within the team:
Growth & Sales
- Maintain a high visibility with key clients in Ontario and across Canada.
- Participate actively in strategy development and execution for the Canadian market to ensure year-on-year growth in volume and profitability.
- Oversee Standing Offer contracts (MSAs) and monitor project delivery performance.
- Lead bid preparations, develop bid strategies, and validate service offerings.
Project set-up & Execution
Provide oversight of project delivery and ensure quality within the portfolio:
- Manage client interfaces,
- Chair internal meetings (kick-offs, progress reviews, milestones),
- Validate change requests and contractual amendments,
- Manage waivers, claims, risks, and contingencies.
Business delivery
- Manage project portfolios to meet regional business goals, maintaining reasonable risk levels.
- Facilitate resolution of client complaints.
- Participate in monthly market meetings.
- Maximize business efficiency while achieving growth targets.
- Experience in Hydropower engineering, construction, operation, maintenance, or project management with 10-15+ years is preferred.
