Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs healthcare professionals across Canada who support the health and wellbeing of our military members.
Location: Cold Lake, AB
Job Type: Part Time / Full Time
Position Overview: Calian is seeking a primary care physician to work at CFB Cold Lake. Physicians are essential members of the healthcare team, providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary healthcare services to Canadian Armed Forces members. These services include primary care, minor trauma care, health promotion, disease prevention, rehabilitation, and support services.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and synthesize data to diagnose diseases or disorders.
- Manage patient care within scope of practice, including monitoring therapy for chronic stable illnesses with effective interventions.
- Implement health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
- Conduct periodic health examinations and assess fitness for patients with acute or chronic conditions.
- Make appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team and consult with other health professionals as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
- Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
- Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C Certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.
- CF Basic Aviation and Dive Medicine Certification is an asset but not mandatory.

- A security clearance or vulnerable sector screening may be required.
