What’s the opportunity?

We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our RBC Borealis Lumina Deployment Services team as a Program Director for the Project Management Office (PMO). The Program Director will lead the key initiatives by managing processes and their execution, escalates impediments, manages risks, and helps drive program-level continuous improvement working in close collaboration with multiple cross functional teams. Success of this role is measured in terms on how well program framework/processes are being planned and executed as well as the success and predictability of the teams delivering on the program objectives and commitments in a timely manner.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation plans, and schedules to ensure successful program delivery;

  • Organizing and facilitating all program/project level planning events;

  • Proactively managing and escalating risks, issues, impediments, and dependencies;

  • Resolving complex non-technology related issues impacting multiple teams;

  • Working in collaboration with each team to provide a high-level estimate for a product/program increment as part of the forward planning process;

  • Communicate and create the reports outlining progress, status, metrics, financials and KPIs;

  • Completing all compliance documents required at the program level (IRP, SOW), if required;

  • Supporting and reinforcing targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals and employee’s understanding of RBC’s vision;

  • Supporting team through organizational change while minimizing disruption and keeping focus on productivity and morale.

You’re our ideal candidate if you have:

Must Have’s:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project/Program Manager;

  • Ability to apply Waterfall and Agile Management Framework and well documented Agile techniques (User Stories, Burndown techniques, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous testing, etc.);

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities;

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills;

  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities;

  • A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry;

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-Have:

  • CSM, PMI-ACP, CSPO, PMP, Agile Release Train Engineering Certificate, SPC – Safe Program Consultant is a benefit ;

  • Scrum Master Trainer, Certified Scrum Professional, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or is highly desirable Value Stream Mapping Experience.
