The Program Manager – IT III plays a key leadership role within the Group Benefits Engineering Team. This individual will lead technology engineers and professionals across multi-disciplinary initiatives, driving the implementation of innovative, customer-focused software solutions. With a focus on cloud infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and agile engineering practices, this role is essential in delivering high-quality, scalable technology that supports both customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking technical leader passionate about empowering teams and driving successful product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional technology teams across multi-squad initiatives, including technical and regulatory projects.
- Oversee and coordinate implementation plans to meet program-level goals and targets.
- Develop and maintain reusable technical patterns and documentation for long-term support and compliance.
- Collaborate with domain experts to align engineering efforts with Manulife’s broader technology strategy.
- Translate complex, multi-disciplinary business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
- Evaluate existing technologies and redefine standards to ensure alignment with emerging needs.
- Redesign process flows in collaboration with partner teams when necessary.
- Monitor emerging technologies and policy trends to anticipate their impact on current systems and future development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in a technology leadership role.
- Proven experience with cloud infrastructure implementation.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Experience with DevOps, test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
Certifications (if any)
- No specific certifications required; relevant Agile, SAFe, or cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Educatio n
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
