Role Description

The Project Controls, Associate, designates work to be done and specified deadlines for completing tasks and deliverables. They utilize standard theories, concepts, and techniques in a specialized field. Responsible for aiding, tracking, monitoring status, controlling, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Provides solutions to a variety of problems. What to do is defined but how to do it is left up to the individual.

Responsibilities

  • Providing project planning and scheduling documentation to support project and customer requirements.
  • Supporting planning and scheduling for in-house or on-site work as required.
  • Assisting Team Leads, Superintendents, and Project/Program Managers in tracking projects against baseline schedules and budgets.
  • Preparing periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations.
  • Assisting on project proposal teams.
  • Creating and revising preliminary master schedules before project start, detailing all work sequences.
  • Maintaining Master schedules, recording impacts of work performed/not performed.
  • Evaluating progress and providing schedule updates.
  • Interfacing with Operations on work impact and problem resolution.
  • Developing working schedules for Estimating to illustrate work sequences and timelines.
  • Assisting in proposal and preliminary schedule preparation.
  • Incorporating resource and cost data into schedules as needed.
  • Consulting with project team members and estimating procedures to ensure proper planning.
  • Creating short-term schedules, monitoring impacts, and helping to correct scheduling issues.
  • Providing schedule content, modifications, or presentation information.
  • Staying current with scheduling software advancements.
  • Expanding and updating professional knowledge and skills.
  • Supporting Project Managers with schedule fragments.
  • Scheduling and tracking equipment maintenance using CMMS software.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience with a High School Diploma, or
  • 4+ years with an Associate degree, or
  • 0+ years with a Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Project Management Software (PM Online), CMMS software (AS400), Primavera P6.

Abilities

  • Ability to work with extended computer screen exposure.
  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Reaching and finger dexterity for manipulating objects and using a keyboard.
  • Effective listening, speaking, reading, and comprehension skills.
  • Applying rules to solve specific problems.
  • Understanding speech.
