Description
The Project / Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and works as part of the team on deliverables related to the design and development of automated equipment, robotics, and tools at Fer-Pal Infrastructure.
Role and Responsibilities
- Take a lead role in designing and developing mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts of the system.
- Design and develop equipment, robotics, and tools.
- Design and perform experiments and tests to validate and improve the design of equipment and systems, including lab and field testing.
- Conduct research activities using available methods and techniques.
- Lead discussions and meetings with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals and deliverables.
- Develop engineering documents such as drawings, BOM, specifications, testing requirements, manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Perform engineering analyses including FEA, tolerance studies, dynamic and kinematic simulations, and material selection.
- Represent the company at external meetings, seminars, and industry events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education or certification in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in designing and managing automated/industrial equipment and robotics projects.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, pneumatics, PLCs, and servo drives.
- Understanding of design principles, manufacturing processes, and technologies.
- Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment, safety, and maintenance.
- Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
