Description

You are a Project Manager responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, you will help estimate new projects, develop execution strategies for large powerline construction projects by coordinating resources, and implement project plans and schedules. You will also ensure safety and quality control, and delegate work to the project team, subcontractors, and others.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project, applying the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) and ensuring compliance with HS&E standards and regulations.
  • Lead subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations for complex projects.
  • Manage pursuit estimates, review costs, and oversee bid packages.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for large bids and oversee the process.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules to meet milestones.
  • Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project opportunities and risks.
  • Track and report financial aspects, including forecasts and billings.
  • Ensure project quality and supply of materials.
  • Provide leadership to construction team members to achieve project targets.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in powerline or utility/industrial construction projects.
  • 3+ years estimating powerline construction projects.
  • Experience as a Project Manager or similar role.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related fields is an asset.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, practices, and methodology.
  • Strong negotiation and management skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to build teams and promote teamwork.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Remote sites across Western Canada (14 days on, 7 days off).
  • Office-based when not on projects.
