Reporting to the Director of Health Programs, the Regional Manager plays a critical role in delivering Maternal and Newborn Health Services in the region. Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of care, overseeing standards and guidelines adherence, and supervising the health team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership in maternal and newborn health services.
  • Supervise midwives and health team members in the region.
  • Educate and support midwives, maternity care workers, and community health nurses providing prenatal and postnatal care.

Qualifications

Must have a Midwifery Diploma from Nunavut Arctic College and registration with the Nunavut Midwifery Registration Committee or equivalent from a Canadian recognized body. A minimum of five years of full-time midwifery practice, experience in remote and cross-cultural settings, and two years of supervisory experience are required.

This is a highly sensitive position requiring a satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory; proof must be submitted with your application.

Additional Assets

Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and fluency in Inuktut, English, or French are assets.

Compensation

Recruitment bonuses and retention incentives are available, including a $5,000 bonus at start, additional bonuses at 18 and 30 months, and a monthly retention bonus of $375.
