Registered Nurse – Concurrent Youth Unit
As part of the Child, Youth & Emerging Adult Program, we are seeking a full-time, permanent Registered Nurse to work in the inpatient youth unit serving ages 13 to 18 (up to 21), with concurrent disorders involving substance addiction and mental health issues. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will provide client-centered psychiatric, addictions, and general nursing care, including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and family support. You will support evidence-based care models such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Your skills should include behavioral observations, mental status assessments, crisis intervention, and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team. You will need to have a BScN degree, registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and BCLS certification. Preference is given to those with psychiatric/mental health certification and experience working with youth with complex needs.
This role involves shift work at our Queen Street Site, requiring effective teamwork, decision-making, and crisis management skills. Bilingualism and experience with diverse populations are assets. All applicants must undergo a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
