Description
The Sunnybrook Lung Health Group, affiliated with SRI, is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual for a Research Associate position. This is a one-year funding opportunity with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will work closely with investigators to support research in respiratory disease, including remote clinical monitoring for chronic lung conditions.
The ideal candidate will have strengths in qualitative and quantitative health research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask independently. Flexibility to attend off-hour recruitment activities is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, implementing, and coordinating research projects from initiation to completion, including ethics submissions, study design, protocol development, and legal agreements.
- Manage study administration, recruitment, data collection, and analysis, ensuring adherence to protocols and quality standards.
- Liaise with participants, families, clinical staff, and investigators to facilitate research activities.
- Maintain study documentation, prepare reports, and contribute to publications and presentations.
- Supervise research assistants and trainees, and assist with training.
- Perform statistical analysis, preferably using R, and manage data effectively.
- Handle financial aspects related to the research, including budgeting and invoicing.
- Attend research meetings, synthesize literature, and contribute to scholarly outputs.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s Degree in a health-related discipline.
- At least three years of clinical research experience, including participant recruitment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience with data management, statistical analysis (preferably R), and research platforms like REDCap.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ethical guidelines (TCPS-2, ICH-GCP).
- Ability to work on-site with flexibility for off-hours and travel as needed.
