We are seeking am experienced professional to join our team and lead initiatives in operational excellence including work in grid modernization and smart operations.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Drive business development efforts and identify growth opportunities within the Utilities Operations Transformation space.
  • With our clients
  • Lead strategic initiatives in grid modernization, including system implementation work and efforts focusing on operational efficiency across the asset lifecycle (i.e., in plan, build, operate spaces)
  • Oversee and provide Subject Matter Expertise on the integration and optimization of advanced operations technologies, guiding systems implementations
  • Collaborate with ecosystem alliance partners including key technology vendors and engineering firms to enhance client offerings and delivery execution.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse team, fostering innovation and problem-solving.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and forums, sharing insights and expertise.

They assist in cloud migration and optimization, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency, while modernizing legacy systems to enhance agility and performance across enterprise applications such as ERP and CRM. With a focus on data-driven decision-making, Deloitte implements advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions to uncover insights and create predictive models. Enough about us, let’s talk about you

We are seeking a Senior Leader with more than 20 years of direct experience in the utilities sector, specializing in operations and control room management. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in operating technology and recent initiatives in grid modernization, underpinned by a solid foundation in asset management principles. This role demands expertise in Operating Technologies, encompassing SCADA, Distribution Management Systems, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMs), emerging Customer Energy Resource Management Systems (CERMs) for behind-the-meter solutions, Outage Management Systems, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the utilities sector, with direct employment in operations and control room management. Preference for Distribution and Transmission system experience, with Generation experience as bonus.
  • Proven leadership and experience up to and including at least a Director level at a Utility
  • Extensive experience in grid operations and control centers, with a deep understanding of how utilities are evolving the foundational elements of their operational data models (e.g., Common Information Model).
  • Anticipated that this individual will also bring a strong set of foundations in asset management discipline overall (e.g., knowledge of standards such as ISO 55000).
  • Proficiency in Operations Technologies and familiarity with key industry vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; advanced degree is a plus. Professional Engineering designation also a plus.
  • Bilingual capabilities are desirable but not required.
  • Proven track record in team leadership, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to engage in public speaking.
  • Familiarity with LEAN six sigma principles or similar
  • Strong and proven inclusive team leadership and innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of transformation management.
  • Passionate about speaking at conferences and sharing industry knowledge.
  • Deep experience but also passionate about helping the industry innovate and drive forward.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $97,000 – $234,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
