This role is hybrid. 3 days a week on-site at any local UL Solutions office.
Analyze industries, global markets, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities for our ULTRUS platform and software products. Responsible for defining the strategy and tactics for market success based on a deep understanding of our solutions, current and potential customers, and the competitive landscape. Provides strategic direction on go-to-market strategies, including tools for sellers to differentiate our value proposition with target customers. Serves as an expert on ULTRUS strategy, providing input on product roadmaps, sales strategies, and both proactive and reactive tactics to maintain market leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leverage deep product and industry knowledge to define market opportunities for software products and the ULTRUS platform, including solution categorization, competitive positioning, messaging, routes to market, target buyers, and buying cycles.
- Monitor industry trends (regulations, macroeconomic conditions, business challenges) and act as a subject matter expert, directing efforts to complete competitive analysis for growth opportunities and risk identification.
- Create product and platform messaging and positioning that identify ideal buying personas and address customer pain points (e.g., regulatory pressures, data complexity, cost) with aligned value propositions.
- Define go-to-market strategies, including plans for launching new ULTRUS modules, setting goals, target audiences, and coordinating with sales, support, and marketing teams.
- Ensure marketing creates content for value sellers, such as hunting packages, displacement guides, and sales presentations, to effectively communicate value. Collaborate with revenue operations to develop sales enablement tools like the “Selling on Customer Value” slide and Battle Cards.
- Initiate market intelligence and trend research to identify new opportunities and inform product roadmaps and sales strategies.
- Ensure creation of master messaging and value propositions to drive product awareness and business growth across segments and businesses.
- Require 10+ years in marketing with 5+ years in marketing software solutions and 4+ years in product marketing.
- Demonstrate strategic and competitive analysis skills, excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, project management, business acumen, strategic thinking, team building, and experience working with senior leaders.
- Possess strong analytical skills, sales enablement expertise, and process improvement capabilities.
Minimum abilities preferred include experience in sustainability and/or product stewardship software marketing, digital marketing expertise, understanding of AI, ability to translate complex technical information for nonscientific audiences, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience managing internal communication tools.
Total Rewards: The estimated salary range is $100,000 to $140,000, based on experience, skills, and location. The position is eligible for an annual bonus of 20%, and offers health benefits, wellness benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
