We are seeking a Senior PCB Layout Designer to join our Ottawa or Kitchener Design Centres. The ideal candidate is passionate about designing with new technologies, driven to succeed, and eager to apply their creative skills.

Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in dense, high-speed digital and analog PCB layout for various industries.
- Proficiency with Allegro Constraint Manager or equivalent for electrical constraint application.
- IPC certification is a plus.
- Attention to detail and a strong understanding of zero-defect layout production.
- Fundamental knowledge of high-speed circuit design and routing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Design, Mentor Expedition/PADS, or Altium for complex, multi-layer PCB layout design.
- Ability to collaborate with mechanical and signal integrity teams, generate fabrication and assembly drawings, and liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure design readiness for high-volume production.
Additional Assets
- Experience with Protel, Altium, Pcad, OrCAD Layout, Cadstar, or DxDesigner; schematic capture tools; mechanical design tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor.
Key Responsibilities
- Design complex, multi-layer, high-speed PCBs, ensuring impedance matching and routing analysis.
- Coordinate with mechanical and signal integrity teams during development.
- Create fabrication, assembly, and drill files.
- Work with board houses to ensure DFM and DFA compliance and lead review processes.
- Research and adopt new techniques to enhance PCB design practices and reduce costs.
