The web, Windowing and Graphics team is exploring novel architectures to accelerate rendering of ArkUI and web platform content. Areas of study include customizing GPU drivers for web rendering, simplifying Chrome rendering architecture for TBDR GPU targets, concurrent web layout, and leveraging Huawei’s HarmonyOS vertical integration.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze web engine and web app framework technology trends.
- Identify key technologies and lead research and proof-of-concept implementations.
- Lead the Canadian research team to collaborate with engineering for production deployment.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership skills to foster coherence in software development teams.
- Ability to create and communicate architecture vision and goals.
- Deep expertise in web technologies, especially web engine/core, front-end frameworks, web performance, and standards.
- Experience with popular web engines such as Blink, V8, Webkit, etc.
- Familiarity with new web technologies like WASM, WebXR.
- Experience with frameworks like Angular, React, Vue.
- Production experience on CE devices is a plus.
- Knowledge of Android or iOS is advantageous.
