We’re on the hunt for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our innovative team with our client in Montreal . - Location: Montreal (Onsite from Day 1, Hybrid – 3 days in office)
What You’ll Do:
- Champion network security by implementing and administering hardware/software, enforcing policies, and troubleshooting incidents.
- Collaborate with our Security Operations Center, provide Level 2 escalation support, and resolve complex problems.
- Manage firewalls in AWS/Azure clouds and physical data centers, design remote access solutions (IPSec/SSL VPNs), and advance security capabilities.
- Refine operational procedures, analyze/upgrade security measures, and integrate new technologies.
- Handle daily tasks like firewall requests and incident responses while offering expert security advice for infrastructure decisions.
- Evaluate security postures regularly and drive global security initiatives forward.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years in network security administration, engineering, or architecture.
- Hands-on development experience with APIs and Python for automating firewall tasks.
- Proficiency with firewall assessment tools (e.g., FireMon, Tufin) and decoding network traces/captures.
- Deep knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, and protocols (SMTP, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, SNMP).
- Experience building/administering physical/virtual Palo Alto firewalls, network segmentation (e.g., Guardicore), and micro-segmentation (Cisco ACI, Palo Alto NextGen).
- Familiarity with Palo Alto solutions like Global Protect, Wildfire, Expedition; features such as UserID, AppID, ContentID, HIPs.
- Certifications in Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE), Guardicore (GCSA/GCSE), AWS/Azure, Splunk, FireMon – a big plus!
- Proven expertise in 2-4 key technologies, with the ability to cross-train teams.
- Strong adherence to security policies, consistent attendance, and a passion for innovation.
