The Staples technology team is seeking a talented and energetic Team Lead to join our team. We want an individual who will challenge the norm, strive to create the best experience’s and someone who always puts the customer first. You will have a passion for writing clean, simple code and a willingness to share learnings within your development team. This is a hands-on Team Lead role where you will develop and lead teams. In this role, you will be participating in refining and implementing solutions that improve Staples Canada’s E-Commerce platforms. This will include working with Product Managers, User Experience designers, Architecture, and Quality Assurance engineers to design and build high-quality solutions. Day-to-day activities will include writing code as well as unit tests to ensure you’re meeting the requirements. A successful candidate will have E-Commerce related software development experience (SDLC, technology), and a passion to learn new technologies.You will have the ability to work within a fast moving, startup like environment and deliver products and services that have a broad business impact.
Specifically, You Will:
- Work with technology technical leads and business leadership to define the right technology solutions to solve complex problems
- Assist in the design of software components to enhance our portfolio
- Translate project goals and product roadmaps into organized technical tasks
- Provide guidance and direction to the development teams to tear down obstacles and keep initiatives on target and moving forward
- Through your knowledge of industry trends and tools, together with your own experiences, work with Agile teams to improve our software, our environment, and our process
Some of what you need:
- Proven Leadership, Delivery and hands on Technical Expertise: Over 5 years of full-stack development experience, as well as 2+ years as a hands on Team/Technical Lead, guiding development teams towards successful project completion using modern web technologies.
- Enthusiasm to explore new ways of doing things, trying new technologies, implementing POCs and being able to present cons and pros of those experience
- Proven experience of building Micro Services, Web Services, WCF, Rest API, Web API and .Net-based Web Services for integration with third party applications, Redis, MongoDB, Cosmo DB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, TSQL
- Expertise in Development Tools and Practices: Experienced with front-end build tools, version control (Git, GitHub), Test Driven Development, writing unit tests, automated testing tools, and applying DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipelines and cloud architecture/technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting experience in high traffic enterprise production environments
- Nice to have experience: Shopify, Contentful, Algolia, Zendesk, GraphQL, MS Azure
