A Canadian luxury menswear label is launching its first flagship in Winnipeg. Known for elevated, performance‑minded tailoring and rigorous sustainability standards, the brand blends modern craftsmanship with purposeful design. The flagship will be a blueprint for service, culture, and client experience across future locations. The Store Director will open and lead the flagship, shaping everything from floor standards to team culture. This role suits an entrepreneurial retail leader who thrives on clienteling, storytelling, and building a high‑performing boutique team. The Store Director partners closely with brand and HQ stakeholders to deliver commercial results while protecting the brand’s premium experience.

Description

  • Launch and lead the flagship: hiring, training, scheduling, and building an inclusive, performance‑driven culture.
  • Own sales performance and KPIs; create action plans that grow traffic, conversion, units per transaction, and average sale.
  • Champion clienteling: develop CRM routines, build top‑tier client relationships, and drive events and outreach that create lifetime value.
  • Set the standard for visual presentation and merchandising; translate weekly directives into curated, store‑specific execution.
  • Manage operations with rigour: inventory accuracy, cash and shrink controls, health & safety, and daily/weekly reporting.
  • Oversee payroll planning and expense management; contribute to forecasting and P&L discussions with leadership.
  • Act as brand custodian on the floor—coaching selling behaviours, elevating service, and resolving client issues with grace.
  • Partner cross‑functionally (merchandising, marketing, digital, retail operations) to pilot new initiatives and refine best practices.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of progressive retail leadership, including 3+ years as a Store Director/General Manager in premium or luxury fashion.
  • Proven success building and scaling high‑performing teams in a flagship or high‑traffic environment.
  • Demonstrated track record delivering sales, KPIs, and operational excellence.
  • Depth in clienteling and CRM routines; experience cultivating top‑tier client relationships.
  • Strong merchandising and inventory management capability; adept at visual standards and sell‑through strategies.
  • Experience with payroll control, labour planning, expense management, and contribution to P&L decisions.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and effective, collaborating with brand/HQ partners.

Who You Are

  • A confident, warm leader who inspires trust, sets a clear vision, and leads from the sales floor.
  • Client‑obsessed, with impeccable service standards for premium and luxury clientele.
  • Process‑minded and detail‑oriented, you love clean back‑of‑house, crisp execution, and strong routines.
  • A developer of people—coaching, feedback, and recognition are part of your daily cadence.
  • Agile and solution‑oriented; comfortable navigating ambiguity in a new‑store environment.
  • Purpose‑driven, with a genuine interest in sustainable fashion and responsible business.
