Job Summary: Performs roles in Neurosurgery, Orthopedics/Spine, and Ophthalmology surgical specialties, and performs patient care activities to assist nurses or physicians.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Anticipates and plans individualized care based on surgical case knowledge.
- Assists in surgical cases by running the table and assisting the surgeon, maintaining asepsis and infection control.
- Maintains an organized work environment and cares for all specialty equipment.
- Prioritizes effectively and performs well in high-stress environments.
- Demonstrates expertise with all instrumentation and equipment for specialty cases.
- Maintains all instrument sets and understands sterilization methods, acting as a resource to staff.
- Works safely and performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
Experience: Six months in surgical specialty or two years as a surgical technician
Physical Requirements: Vision, hearing, lifting, standing, bending, and other physical activities as detailed in original description.
Certifications: BLS Healthcare Provider (AHA)
Work Shift: PRN / Per Diem in the USA
