Primary Objectives:
We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Senior Underwriter to join our Cyber Insurance Solutions team at HSB. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in underwriting and managing cyber insurance risks, as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients and brokers. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cyber insurance products, risk assessment, and underwriting principles, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Job Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of cyber insurance risks, including reviewing and analyzing risk submissions, assessing risk profiles, and making informed underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including claims, risk management, and actuarial teams, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of cyber risks and develop effective risk management strategies
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers, providing exceptional service and expertise to drive business growth and retention
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging cyber threats, and apply this knowledge to underwriting decisions and client engagement
- Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters, promoting a culture of learning and development within the team
- Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices across the team
- Participate in business development initiatives, including identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic relationships with key clients and partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., FCIP, CPCU) are preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cyber insurance underwriting, with a strong track record of underwriting and managing complex cyber risks
- In-depth knowledge of cyber insurance products, risk assessment, and underwriting principle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed underwriting decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Strong business acumen, with a focus on driving business growth and profitability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a growth mindset and a strong initiative to lead projects to completion.
- Bilingualism is preferred, with a focus on French language proficiency (written and spoken)
