In Canada, SENER has a strong presence, involved in major rail and transit projects over the past decade across cities like Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton, including Ontario Line, Scarborough, Confederation LRT, Valley Line, Finch West LRT, REM, RER, Yonge line, and Eglinton.
The VP of Strategy & Business Development will support SENER’s growth and recognition as a key player in Canada’s Rail Engineering sector and expand existing clients and project bases in other civil sectors. Reporting directly to the CEO in Toronto, the VP will collaborate with SENER Canada leadership and market leads to:
- Develop strategies supporting business development goals in target market segments
- Identify market priorities and opportunities in Canada
- Drive growth through business development, key pursuits, and sales strategies
- Lead market research, client relationships, bid development, and contract negotiations
- Coordinate with proposals and bid teams
- Maintain and monitor the opportunity pipeline
- Partner with market leaders to pursue collaboration opportunities
- Enhance local reputation through relationships and leadership support
- Achieve organic growth targets
Job Requirements:
- Proven track record in Business Development with tangible results
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development at senior levels in Rail, Transit, or large Civil projects in Toronto
- Established client relationships in the Canadian rail/civil engineering market
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to develop new and maintain existing client relationships
- Data reporting and trend analysis skills
- Organized, energetic, and able to work under pressure
- Independent initiative and excellent communication skills
- Engineering background in Civil or Rail Engineering is an asset
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
